Lay Minister Rick Bryant

Rick started serving our congregation in September 2019.  He has been a Sheriff's Deputy in Sargent County for 15+ years and has served in the military for 25+ years, in the role of Chaplain for the last 10 years (as of 2019). He recently did a 10-month tour of duty in Afghanistan. He says, "I really began to feel the call into the ministry when I was serving in Afghanistan. I began to see service to Christ in a whole new light. God really opened my eyes. There was no doubt that God was calling me to serve. Isaiah 6:8 was embedded in my mind:

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send and who shall go for us?" And I said, "Here I am, send me."

And now, with the church needing a pastor and offering me the call, I have no doubt the stars are lining up with God's will for me to be a pastor. I am so honored and blessed that I have been offered this call. I look forward to serving as pastor in this community for years to come. Together, we can all grow in Christ!"

The program that Rick has enrolled in to become ordained is called Theological Education for Emerging Ministries (TEEM).
